How it started

It started with a car for sale

In 1975, founders Chris and Liz Kidger wanted to sell their car. There was no simple or affordable way to advertise it, so they created one. That idea became the Friday-Ad, the UK’s first free classified newspaper.

As technology evolved, so did we. Friday-Ad moved online in the 1990s before expanding into new industries, new technologies and new markets, eventually becoming Friday Media Group.

The goal has never changed: to connect people with opportunities.
